I get a discount through my job. They have a partnership with apple so i get an alright discount. It allowed me to do the antiglare hi res screen upgrade and get the rig for 2k :D

damn that's cool, that's a good $400 or so savings... can I send you money and buy one for me? hahahaha nah just kidding :D

Well, its not a cheap rig. I spent about $2600.00 (CAN) on everything and then built it myself. The main parts of my system consist of the following:

-Coolermaster HAF 932 full tower case
-Gigabyte 890FXA-UD5 mother board with USB3, SATA3
-AMD Phenom II 1090T x6 3.2GHz
-8GB dual channel DDR3 RAM (upgradeable to 16)
-Gigabyte HD 5830 videocard with 1GB GDDR5 RAM (room for a second card)
-Coolermaster SilentProGold 1000W power supply
-Coolermaster C300 128GB SATA3 SSD drive for programs
-Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB SATA3 HDD for storage
-Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit
-ASUS 25.5" widescreen monitor (1920x1200 native resolution)
-other goodies like blue-ray drive, and other tid bits

Only 3.2 on the 1090T? :) Cmon man you can do more than that ;) Go to 4.2!

My friend was trying to get me to go to an AMD/1090T-based system but price wise its within $100 or so of the i7-2600k I wanted....Even he conceded its probubly not worth it given the 2600k smokes anything this side of a 980X...

I also have a Dell 24" monitor, Love it to death, Cant decide if im going to replace it with a 23" 3D-capable Asus or go for the 27" Dell Ultrasharp....Either way im getting heavy duty GPUs

I wish people would buy a print or something so i could get my computer faster

Yes this week went by quickly!!! Lots of work though since it was compressed. I worked on some images yesterday and almost threw my laptop out the window! So painfull!

I saw your benchmark numbers and feel your pain!

hahaha ohh I always had big appetite Alex... I think its the activity that changed that's why I got fat. I used to deliver our goods everyday, now I just sit on the desk..

Give your delivery guys the desk position once in a while and go do the delivery yourself! :p

I didn't get the version with illustrator and stuff. Don't need it. It was $100 more. After taxes this cost me $224.87 CD.
