Look at my sig. I have what I consider to be the ultimate lens line up (for me) but instead of spending all my time using them, I'm on the internet researching other lenses. I want a Canon 28-1.8 and a Canon 85-1.8 right now. What's wrong with me? :\

It's gear lust. More lenses will probably do very little to improve your photos, but they seem like they will.

You really need a fast prime for low light work. I'd get the 28f1.8 first. I have the 85f1.8 and the 35f2, and the 85 comes out for work outside. In the current snowy Midwest, the 85 is going to sit in the bag for a few months.
Just tell ourself - "...it isn't an L. I am being careful with my money."

You caught a bad case of gottahaveit, probably from spending time on this forum without wearing proper protection. Unfortunately, it's incurable.

Watch out for upgradeitus and L-coholoism here too. These diseases are also rampant here, highly contagious... and, sadly, incurable.

Take two EF lenses and call me in the morning. This only temporarily treats the symptoms, though... There is no cure for gottahaveit.

We should tell everyone your story out as a warning, maybe put some PSA ads together for bus benches, MTV and Teen magazine (all at taxpayer expense, of course), letting young people know that they really should have an expensive multi-coated "protective" filter on 24/7/365 to help avoid catching these diseases.

Seriously, you have a couple nice zooms, there's nothing wrong with wanting to shoot with primes some of the time, too. I use both the primes you are considering, along with a few others. I'd rather shoot with primes, but use some zooms too, out of necessity. The 28 is very compact and a nice walk around lens. The 85 is a great candid portrait lens.

Your looking for people on this forum to convince you to stop looking? It is an addiction...

BTW... You should get a fast fifty or thirty. :D

That's one thing in my favor, I have no desire to play the Sigma crap shoot game.

Happens to five-year-olds with LEGO, older members of the species with chicks... or possibly just with stamps or vintage cars.

No cure yet known to mankind, but getting some fresh air with that nifty camera dangling from your neck, actually TAKING PICTURES, and above all chucking all photo-forum links from your browser bookmarks could alleviate the most acute symptoms.

What's wrong with me? :\

Nothing, turn off the computer and go shoot some pictures. A new lens will not make you a better photographer, only practice will.
