Looks like PCB is going to hit the trifecta: According to PCB customer service this morning, a "minor" hardware issue will delay shipping of the VML past the first of the year. How far past is anyone's guess.

And speaking of delayed products, the new "fingers" for the Einstein accessory mount have apparently been received and are being tested. Best guess at the moment is that the V2.5 Einstein might ship in about three weeks. Groan.

It would only be news if it DID come out on time. A missed ETA for a new PCB product surprises no one. First the interminable (and continuing) delays with the Einstein followed by interminable delays with the PLMs and now the VML. I wonder which vendor Paul will blame this time.

No surprises here either. I haven't used my two v1's much at all since receiving them, because I'm afraid they'll melt or catch fire .

Fortunately, I have a 600RX, (2) WL1200s, and a WL600, so I have plenty of light. Although I remain intrigued by the potential the E640's have, I am getting tired of the wait. -- I may ditch the E640s and just get two more 600RXs.

Let's blame the logistics company:

Logistics Company, 3 weeks for shipping, and vendors not understanding MSDS rules..... That doesn't sound like issues you have working with American companies... Made in USA, huh?

I will admit they're poor at getting equipment updates delivered, but they do have the best customer service of any place I know of. My newest AB1600 flash tube popped the little pimple off the tube and they promptly shipped a new one without asking for the old one returned.
I wish them luck dealing in the China Trade Market. I wish they would keep everything here, but that's just the way all business is run now days

PCB does seem to be a constant source of mirth and amusement except for those who order his products. However their customer service may make up for it to an extent. I'm not aware of others companies who remedy issues with their products. I suppose one will argue that most companies thoroughly test their products so that the consumer does not experience these issues and subsequent product revisions. I didn't see Elinchrom offering upgrades to the D-Lite IT even though it's predecessor was prone to overheating or its flimsy mount breaking.

Absolutely. I laugh at and poke just as much fan at a poor design from Elinchrom as I do from PCB. I've just never seen a company that has such lengthy delays in order fulfillment and so many excuses for parts or components being endlessly delayed. That's just an observation.

But that doesn't mean that I wouldn't love to see other manufacturer's step up their customer service to the level of PCB. I don't think anyone would object to that.
