I just got a 430ex II for my camera, love the thing but every once in a while it goes off for no reason. It makes a buzzing sound and emits the flash for a couple seconds... it reminds of when you use the Flash for Focus Assist.

I don't know much about flashes, but this doesn't seem normal. Any idea what could be causing this? Do I need to return it for another?

It happens to the best of us. :o

What's even worse is when you have the flash pointed straight at your face and bumping the DOF button. Not fun.
