Hello,

I've been reading the past topics but nothing really, from what I found, seemed to answer the following:

I'm going to be lighting a 15' wide x 8' deep area using 2 AB800's for a benefit. Myself and the other photographer will both be firing them using remote triggers.

My main questions is, what would be the best configuration to do this. I have some ideas, but I'm not sure which one is optimal. Here's what I've come up with so far:

1. Use my large (60"x40") soft-box directly over our heads at strip center (to light 7 1/2 feet on both sides) high up pointing down (set back maybe 10 feet max) and then using my medium (30" x 40") soft-box to use as a side light off to the right pointing toward the left side of the 15 foot strip (feathering somewhat)

2. Use a large umbrella on the left side, 45 degrees pointing toward the middle of the strip with the medium soft-box off to the right, at eye level (approx) to provide fill light.

That's kind of where I ended. So I'm looking for some advice on how to do this. I don't have a parabolic reflector, but can get a hold of large umbrellas if need be. The cameras can also be equipped with on camera flashes if need be.

Thanks for any advice!

Anyone?

I spoke to a photog at a local store today and he kind of agreed that the large softbox overhead (40x60) at centerline pointing down about 10 feet up (whatever it takes to produce a 45 deg angel at center) and then setting up the medium off to the right (at body level) and slightly feathering for fill. We estimates this would provide about 60% or more of the 15 foot area and because it's a red carpet event, most of the photos will be shot near the middle somewhere.

Any thoughts from the lighting experts out there? Would be most appreciated!

Thanks!

They are going to be VIP/guests at an event in NY, so basically red carpet shooting.

Thanks
