Pelicans take flight?

So how many of you take your pelicans onboard aircraft? If so....they are a bit heavy to begin with (with no gear), let alone with gear. I like my pelican for it is on wheels...and protects my equipment. I bought it to take onboard but have not yet, knowing that even though the dimensions are airline set, I wonder if the Pelican really is practical stuffing into a overhead bin etc...

So...who has done it?

taken the 1514 across country a few times. On large modern jets with the updated overhead bins it fits wheels in no problem. On some of the older aircraft it has to sit left to right in the bin.

Will not fit overhead in small regional jets.

But in either of the first two situations it worked fine.
