So I get a call on Sunday....asking if I can shoot the Falcons game Monday night...ugh...yeah!

First time shooting pro football and it is a Monday night game! Man the sidelines where packed.....

Had a blast. Wish I would have shoot some football at some point in the year before I had to shoot this...

Great shot of Brees!

At one point in the telecast they showed a replay where Brees didn't blink for about 5 seconds before the snap through til after he released the ball. His eyes were like your shot above - saucers.

All these shots are excellent. Love the one of Turner especially. I wish #5 didn't have that pesky camera guy in the picture. What did you shoot these with?

Most or all with the the 300 2.8 IS.

I like the camera guy in there on #5...it shows the environment and what was going on.

Thanks for the comments.

Nice set. I love the action

There seems to be a lot of noise. What was your ISO? And I must ask, what does one do to get sideline pass to photograph a professional game?

They do have a little noise but that happens when shooting in a dome with crappy lighting. I shot these at 2000 and 2500 ISO on the MKIII.

To get a pass you need to work your way up shooting all the sports you can. Then you have to find some one to offer you an assigment (ie newspaper, wireservice, or some other media source).

Thanks for all the comments!

Wow, I hope they called pass interference after photo #2. That is NO DOUBT contact before the ball got there.

Great series!

NICE !!!

Is this the play where Thomas got hurt ?
.....ouch, look at his right ankle !

"Pierre Thomas, one of the stars of last season's Super Bowl run, was placed on injured reserve on Wednesday because of his injured ankle."

Probably. It is hard to hear things when on the side lines. I didn't hook my portable radio up till after the half....:(
