Looks like a productive year indeed.. some really nice shots there. I really like the "moonburst and firelight".

I should really fix the "2008" in the Death Valley pic I suppose. I haven't had a chance to re-upload it to flickr.

My opinions.

1- Nice composition. Colours look rather retro. Perhaps a hue change would look better.
2- You had a helping hand from mother nature, but even so a terrific shot.
3- Nice
4- Wonderful BW conversion. Perhaps a bit less below and a bit more on top.
5- Shot to be proud of.
6- this composition doesn't work for me.
7- Great shot. If you have more land on the original I would prefer that composition.
8- Terrific background.
