I have several of these that I've just started to play around with a bit. Each deflector has a shallow bowl shape, and they can be attached with either the concave part of the deflector facing towards the flashtube or away from it. The concave side appears rougher and more granulated to scatter light more randomly. The convex side is smoother. I've searched for pictures online, and I've found pictures with it mounted both ways! Maybe it actually can be mounted both ways for slightly different characteristics. I've only used it one way so far, and I'm not saying which way to avoid looking like an even bigger idiot!
So which is it? Concave side facing in or out or either way?
So that could mean that there could be two big admitted idiots in this forum. Well, you know what they say, misery loves company.
