Yes, that's my point but I think perhaps your processing has exaggerated it's prominence a little. Nice shot though, I like it.

I think that was a 300mm f2.8 + x2 on a 7D

Excellent work Richard, how did you keep the trails looking so good and not just bleached the same color as the white of the fusalage?

The upper portion of the fuselage was reflecting the evening sunlight like a mirror. While tracking the aircraft it was unfortunate that this happened just as it passed in front of the moon as that only occurred for 5 seconds and was dependent on the sun's, the aircraft's and my position relative to each other.
The contrails are not smooth like the aircraft's skin so no such reflection. Thanks for the comment and all the best.

Its always a problem with white balance getting the trail a realistic color, I guess it helps with a decent L lens, I only have the nifty 250 and although a good lens, I believe it does lack the fine detail of an L lens, I am planning on getting a 70-200 f4 L slight lack in range but a pin sharp lens, so Im hopping cropping with my 30d and L lens will help.

Nope. Cold early march morning in canada, 500ft AGL coming straight at me. Trust me, that thing was puffing like Joe the Camel.

...or if you sip the cool-aid, it's a government experiment on making artificial clouds.

OMG, don't get me started on these "chem-trail" theories, that stuff drives me nuts !

Not a great shot, Air France Jumbo 747-428 flying at 32,000 ft over Yorkshire England on it's way to Miami. 100-400 with 2X extender hand held and manual focus, not too bad allowing for the state of my eyesight these days
