I installed the software for my 5d2 and have no trouble using the EOS utility to download pictures. When I try to download pictures from my G11, the utility won't recognize the G11. I've tried both USB cords with no luck. Any way to get the EOS utility to work with different Canon cameras?
Thanks.

The 5D2 was released before the G11, so I am guessing this is the reason.

Have you tried installing the G11 software?

I use a card reader. No problems when you do that.

Exactly... By using a card reader, I'm able to download from from four different Canon DSLRs, a G5, a Canon P&S and a Sony P&S, all into the same directories.

To the best of my knowledge the 'G' series cameras require Canon's 'Camera Window' to download images and not EOS Utility ('G' series cameras are not EOS cameras)

Solve your frustrations and problems by using a card reader.
You will stay sane a whole lot longer.

I agree with this. I have a couple of canon P&S's and a couple of DSLR's. I installed the software from all of them and when I plug my 5D in (for example) it asks "would I like to use EOS Utility or Camera window to download images".

Having said that, I agree with most that a 20$ card reader is the best solution.

Update your software to the latest version of zoombrowser/imagebrowser and I think that included the camera window bit too.
