black and white tree...

c and c would be much appreciated here. it's the first black and white I've done with the new camera. haven't read anything yet about contrast, etc. with black and white. I plan to read up on it, but just want to see if I'm off to a good start. I'm not sensitive, so feel free to blast away if I'm not...

For what it is, I love it the way it is.

I think this tree would do better against a more neutral background. There is nothing wrong with the b/w and grey shades. They all look good. But you made it hard on yourself with the composition.

The background is distracting and there is no center of interest - each of the branches draws your eye right out of the frame. It looks very flat against the background, too.

I think if the BG were a little OOF it would help.
