Alrightttttttyyyyyy then. First time out this season to shoot anything with a motor in it which is surprising. With all this new glass I have gotten I've been trying really to shoot everything but automotive for a bit but it's time to get back in the game here......

Please excuse pour exposure and blown highlights on some of these shots. I am still getting used to my 3 strobe set-up apposed to my 2 strobes last year. For this specific shoot I was borrowing a flash from my friend as ironically I had lent one of my 2 420EXII's out a while ago and still didn't get it back. All three flashes are remotely fired with Pocket Wizards and honestly they worked awesome! There is a LOT more light being splashed which makes controlling shadows and exposure incredibly hard.

Anyways they turned out alright in my opinion but I already know a million things I will do better next time. Had only an hour to shoot and set-up/take-down time alone is almost 30 minutes with all this crap lol, so theres only a couple. More shoots coming very soon!!!

Start with a familiar face.....my little civic.

My buddys RHD Aristo. 2JZ single-turbo. Dirty set of SSRs on it, more on this car to come in the near future.

A little wider with some light fall-off....tones got a little weird here, tried to correct in post and it didn't help much without desaturating it.

Here is a "meh" group shot of the three, wasn't a big fan of this one but figured why not. Need more flashessssssssss.

So......I think I can officially say the kick-off to car season will be my next trip up to Toronto where I can get some serious shooting done. Comments and criticism is more than welcome, although I already see most of the flaws as is.....live and learn lol.

P.S. If anyone was wondering these were all shot using my 7D /w 28-70 2.8L...except the wider one of the Aristo, it was shot with the 20-35 f2.8L.

Oh my! I hope you didn't misunderstand my post thinking this was all done with one OCF? This was a 2 off camera strobes and one OCF sitting on top of the Pocket Wizard MiniTTL transmitter I use on my camera to communicate with the 3x Pocket Wizard Plus II's hanging off the light stands. Allows me to maintain OCF.

I hope this explain slightly better? Next time I will make sure I take a shot with all the strobes in the frame to really see how this is done.

Thanks for the kind words!

thanks for clearing up. still, i never would have guessed multiple hot-shoe flashes can be so powerful. it looks like you have a very large light source. well done!
