I want the UWA for my trip to Europe in August due to narrow streets and wanting some landscape shots.

I am British though living in Central America. When I next return home I shall take the 7D and the 15-85, only. 15 is amply wide enough for normal use (it's 24 FFE). Once you get wider than that you'll get some weird distortions - can be fun, but not for tourist-type photos.

The only time I might want something wider would be for certain shots inside cathedrals, but again the above comment applies.

For landscapes you'd probably be better off with several shots at 15 (or even narrower) then stitched together.

5D & 7D (both gripped), 24-105L, 100-400L, 15-85, 50 f1.8, Tamron 28-75, Sigma 12-24, G10, EX-Z55 & U/W housing, A1+10 lenses, tripods, lighting gear, etc. etc.

From the local environmental center this morning... the slight discoloration in the lower left is from shooting through the fence...

Sure. But there's not much to eat at my place. This was taken at the local Vietnamese restaurant. I call it "Pho - tography".

bannedPermanent ban

Just got my CLP 7D - looks and smells brand new; however, the battery was actually dead - seriously Canon? Gimme at least 10%!

Couple initial impressions:
- I prefer the 50D's CF slot - I understand the 7D's larger opening is for CF HD cards
- I prefer the tactile feel of the shutter and buttons on the 50D, I assume this is due to the weather sealing
- Eyepiece wiggles
- I got a Canon EOS digital strap and not a 7D strap - what gives? I seriously might call them about that.

After a google search - these are all normal barring the strap - yes I'm that anal.

I know this isn't the thread for this kind of stuff but expect pictures soon!

I'm stoked!

My 7D came with just a 'Canon' strap - what does it matter?
