What does this picture look like when cropped straight? The poles in the back are a dead giveaway. IMO.

Only posted to show what the 7D can do and not for crit to be honest, but thanks for the pointer.

My take, it will look even better.

A fun shot from my backyard... the bird is like - oh my God, I dropped my lens!!

That's sweet... I prefer it canted over to the left, adds that extra racing feel!

I was having a play with my rented 24-70mm L earlier on. Not much of a flower person, but saw a really colourful dahlia in the gardens I was walking through and wanted to see how it performed with close-up stuff. Amazed!

So now that you've had the 7D for a bit, how are you finding it? If memory serves me right, I believe you have/had the 1D4 first and then picked up the 7D as a 2nd/back-up. Is it performing well enough to your liking for what you shoot?

I like it tilted as well. It draws my attention more to the rider than the front of the bike.

Hi Julian :D

Your memory is spot on buddy brought the 7D as backup for the 1D MKIV and for the price of the 7D you get more than your moneys worth to the MKIV.

If you could roll the best bits of both cameras into one it would be an amazing bit of kit.

I shoot the British Superbike Championship as media so all my stuff is based on taking pictures of bikes and riders like John Hopkins and Josh Brookes.

Found the 7D struggles with A/F when using silly combinations of glass as it wont keep up with a bike coming straight at you so the keeper rate takes a hit compared to the MKIV and you do notice the difference in ISO as i can use the 1DMKIV at silly levels compared to the 7D.

Love the one shot RAW button as i shoot motorsport in jpeg but its great for pit lane stuff of riders etc and saves loads of time.

Have now got used to upping the shutter speed another notch on top of what i can get away with on the 1DMKIV as a combination of crop factor and pixel density but over the moon with it and would not even think about getting a second 1DMKIV now.

All in all the 7D will pay for itself quicker than the 1DMKIV and with just a little extra PP the images it produces are almost on par with the MKIV so very happy indeed.

Thanks, using flash when photographing these guys really makes them shine.

I thought I'd add one more shot.
