Not to get all animal rights or anything so dramatic but I wouldn't want to take a picture of an animal that distresses it too much. I felt guilty following a loon around a lake in a canoe. That said, they are very well done. I know when I started macro work on insects, I figured it would be impossible to get a camera 2 inches from an insect and start flashing it with lights. I don't know how birds react, but I can say most insects couldn't care less about me and my speedlite. navydoc Cream of the Crop More info | ions, I don't think it's a silly question at all. From what I've observed, the flash doesn't bother them any more than the sound of the shutter going off. There are times when a bird will fly off instantly when the flash is fired and there are times it just gets ignored and I can take multiple shots. Sometimes I can sit at the patio table less than 10 feet away from the feeder and some hummers fly away as soon as they see me while others just help themselves to the feeder to their hearts content Gene - My Photo Gallery ||
