I have to say that I 101% agree.

The 70-200F4L-IS + the hood, has become my walkabout lens on the 7D. For the wide shots, I use the S95 Powershot instead.

Absolutely! I love the f/4L IS. I've rented the 2.8L IS II and did some tests and my copy of the f/4L IS was just as sharp. I never find myself really needing 2.8 since on cameras nowadays you can bump the ISO and not really worry about noise that much.

Cheers. I set the camera in bulb mode and zoomed out from 200mm to 70mm for about 3 seconds and held at 70 for about 2 seconds. I cant explain the exclamation mark bang in the middle.
