A dragon fly photographed with my 7D and 100-400L. This camera is awesome for wildlife. I see people whining and complaining online about noisy images with the 7D yet I wonder how many have bothered to really look into learning how to set up the camera and edit the images properly. I may have a full frame but this camera is just as good if not better in some areas. As an action camera it is great, anything better would break the bank balance.

The subjeect, composition and light management are deserving of a win in any man's contest. Congrats. I shall be on our river trying to mimic your fine work this July 4th.

A dragon fly ...

Superb shot! Such a difficult subject (at least, for me!).

Thank you all. Normally I use a lens that allows me to fill the frame with fireworks since our small town show is pretty meager, but since I had a front row seat on the river this year I decided to go wide and capture some of the reflection. This is probably my favorite firework photo I've ever taken - even without having been named Photo of the Year. :)

So, we went for a bit of trainspotting, and while waiting for a train, we came across this fella:
Late in the evening, sun almost set, 200mm, ƒ/4.0, ISO3200, 1/80(!). I'm still continually amazed by the IS on this lens, and the ISO performance at 3200.
