I was lucky enough to arrive home after work the other night while there was (i) a nice clear sky and (ii) a pretty much full moon. Been waiting for this chance for months! Used a 7D and the 400mm f/5.6L. I'm impressed with the sharpness considering this was shot from within an industrial city. nice detail and sharpness on that moon shot, well done.

I tried to take some a few months back when the moon was "the largest it will ever be in your lifetime" but I guess I was in the wrong place... two small, to much daylight still. You need lots of lens, and remember that the moon is being lit by the sun, just like the earth is during broad daylight. The exposure is the same as you would shoot during the day if you want the detail in the moon. I've shot it several times with the 100-400 and you want more than that to try to fill the frame. Lots of crop. Gary
