Been seeing your "quotes", but they don't make sense. What are you quoting?

Gary, Your image the waterfront. Most likely I would not have seen that image as I walked by the opportunity. A short time ago we were scolded for reproducing the images with our comments. I too often do not know what folks are talking about for the same reason.

You don't have to repost the image, but the comment might give us a hint what it was about. :) I ran across one page yesterday that reposted the original image 5 times on ONE page!

Thanks- my dog is only slight more cooperative than my wife (which means she's not very cooperative at all.) It was hard to get her to sit still.

Good ol' trusty Canon EF 100 f2.8 macro USM. Not the L version.
I had the money for the L version but decided to try this version first... I always wonder how much "better" the L would be. But despite my curiosity, I'm very happy with the non-L. I got it used from a POTN member and paid significantly less than half the cost of new 100L, so I'm chuffed.

IME, if I could have focused close enough with my EF-S 18-55 IS then the photo would be almost the same quality. The edges would be slightly worse and there would be more distortion with the 18-55. I don't think the 18-55 gets enough credit. If the subject were far away, however, the 18-55's budget optics start to reveal themselves and not in a good way.

I think the blue version works better than the black and white; it feels colder and lonlier.
