I just bought CS5 but my computer is slow. So I want to know, if I install it now, and then buy a new computer, will I have to buy PS again?
How many times can you install PS on a different computer, and is it difficult installing several copies?
How does one go about it?

The license allows you to install it on two of your computers, provided they are not used at the same time.

I went through a hard time with one of my PC's. I had to do a total of about 12 clean installs. I have never had an issue reinstalling CS4.
I did give Adobe a call to let them know my situation though. They didn't seem to care one way or the other.

I never, Not once claimed to read your post...

Isn't there a de-register uninstall process that you can go through that effectively gives you a clean slate for re-install on another machine?

You're talking about a company who deliberately "leaks" their software out into the filesharing P2P universe. I don't think you'll have a problem one way or the other.

Yes, you can install on 2 computers.
If you're planning on moving an install, you better Deregister one of the current ones or it probably won't work.

You can install Photoshop as many times as you want....however, the EULA only permits you to have two installations concurrently on a desktop and a laptop for example.

If you need to install it again the you'd first have to deactivate one of your two current installations. That's done by starting Photoshop and going to Help > Deactivate. If that's not done you'll find that you cannot install it again without placing a support call to Adobe. And yes, the software does call home to Adobe's software so they know if the license is installed more than twice.

Correct, but make sure you de-activate it before uninstalling and installing again, especially if on another machine.
If you do forget, or a hard drive crashes etc. and you have run out of activations you can phone Adobe and they will sort it out for you.

PixelMagic is correct

No, you don''t have to buy P.S. again as long as CS5 is installed only on two of your computers. If you buy two new computer and don't want to leave CS5 on the old and slow ones, you can "deactivate" the CS5 in the old computers, and install CS5 on two new computer. I went through this process last week:)

I had installed and deinstalled CS5 twice on one of the two new iMacs, and then installed CS5 on the newest iMac. When I tried to use CS5 on the new iMac, a window appeared on the screen indicating that I could not use the license on this computer because I already had used it on two computers, and that I had 30 days to resolve this issue.

I was not aware that when you deinstall PSE, CS5, and other Adobe applications, the deinstaller does not remove the license from the computer. So, I had to reinstall CS5 on the slightly older iMac, followed by "deactivating" it (found in the Help Menu), and then deinstalling it once more. The final step was to enter the license number on this and the newer iMac. Now I can use CS5 on both iMacs if I want to.

Could you please elaborate on this?
