I've been searching for a way to mount my camera on a tripod head of choice but be able to shift the entire assembly to create panoramic stitches with long lenses. I would use live view to match the segments. Anyone know of something like this that already exists?

Is a Nodal Slide better than a Pano Head such as the Manfrotto 303SP?

When would I use which tool?

I have a friend with a 303SP and I have been meaning to give it a try, but I have not researched how to setup the camera on the head yet.
