This is a nice shot. Sharp and well exposed. I guess that if you know Barcelona, it conjurs up memories.

On the other hand, the skyline is fairly limited in color, and there are few (if any) reflections in the water or varied shapes on the skyline.

These content limitations seem to limit image.

Following your line of thought about the profile: do you think the profile you used is embedded in the picture? No way. So what if you don't have your profile? Will we see the right exposure or not? As far as I know the profile is only associated with the representation of colors. It will not correct over/under exposure.

If the picture seems to light it might be that our monitor isn't calibrated properly. It might also mean that yours isn't. It might also mean that your picture isn't exposed properly.

ICC RGB profiles can be embedded into JPEGs, PNGs and TIFFs.

Internet Explorer, OmniWeb and Safari support ICC RGB and CMYC profiles. Netscape/Mozilla used too, but due to alleged flood of compaints that images looked too dark (nobody asked if the artists intended for them to look that way) the feature was removed.

Thanks for clarifying! I asked the question because the browsers (at least IE) do not seem to support proprietary profiles such as AdobeRGB or BruceRGB, two of the more commonly used color working spaces, nor do they seem to support device-specific profiles. In those cases, the browser defaults to sRGB and colors are not displayed properly. Color management is a real PITB.

By the way, as Henkbos noted above, your image is "untagged" - no embedded profile.

Then I messed up ... hehe ... would not be the first time either. I feel your pain regarding defaulting to sRGB, thats what IE does most of the time.
