Too much wrong with my settings to salvage this. I was taking surfing pictures and he walked by but I was wondering what he is ?

In general, it is of the Sandpiper family. It's hard to tell size here.

It might be a Godwit or any of a few others.

Thanks. I thought he looked like a sandpiper but he was much larger ( about a foot high) then the other little ones scurrying around.

Some of the Godwits go 15-18 inches in length.

Leg color can be helpful, and that is difficult when they are backlit.
