Here is the story behind the OOF picture of that Hawk: this guy visits our backyard every now and then, I guess attracted by the birds and squirrels around the feeders.
My wife called me yesterday morning when she saw him perched in a nearby tree at the end of the back yard; I had my MKII already fitted with the BIGMA 150-500 + Kenko TC 1.4 - I had played with it earlier, testing bird pics at 700 mm and MF - which is a PITA when it comes to trying to shoot restless Chickadees...
Long story short, time to get to the window with the rig and manual focus on the visitor, the latter took off toward a squirrel he was stalking, in another tree between him and my house (he missed it). I just had time to shoot that one OOF pic, hopefully good enough for an ID?
Thanks so much in advance.

Thanks Tom.
I was wondering because of the white chin and the absence of black tips on the wings feathers...

That is the problem with red tails, so many variations of them. The bird in your picture has to big of feet to be anything else. : ) And it does look immature. : )
