As you probably know, flower photos have been done to death. But that doesn't mean you can make one special. Try shooting that daisy at sunrise or sunset. Spray some water on it. Use a flash from behind it. Shoot it from a lower angle. Shoot it when it has a visitor, such as a bee. Just some ideas.

Cool stuff. That first shot is really good because it is so different and we really don't know what it is. As compaired to the second shot that is pretty obvious and is a basically boring shot of a white daisy. Sorry to be harsh there, but it is. There is no special lighing on it to make it stand out, no great angle, nothing to make it special. The DoF is very well done and that's a great start, but with close-up and macro shots, the DoF is something that most here are trying to increase. But for that shot the shallow DoF works very well. Lots of people could have taken that same shot though.

You need to find a style or something that makes your images stand out to make them interesting and different. That's what we all strive to do. You say you are just beginning to take photo classes, that's great! But remember, there are lots of places to learn this art from. One of them is to just keep trying! Another is this place. I have learned so very much from the fine and skilled people of POTN it's amazing to me.
