I never had a problem importing RAW photo's from my 450D. Did my first shoot with my new 60D shot in RAW, and Lightroom wont import the files.

I get a message stating "The files unsupported or damaged."

DPP wont import them either. What the heck! ?

Zoom Browser EX shows me thumbnails of all the photo's I took, but when I go to open them in DPP, I can't. DPP just shows me the file name like "IMG_0072.CR2" for example, but no image.

So Zoom Browser EX shows me the RAW photo's, but DPP or Lightroom cannot support them ?????

Should I of formatted the card before hand?

Yeah... format in camera.

Try simply copying the files from the card to your computer using a memory card reader. (COPY, don't cut and paste... You don't want to accidentally erase any image files from the card.)

I formatted the card, tooke some test shots and they wont import either. "files unsupported or damaged" it says again.

So I used a different SD card, same thing.

I'm shooting in RAW as well, not RAW+JPG or anything, simply RAW.

Ok, so I take the card out, put it in my Canon 450D, snap a few test shots and they import fine... so its something up with my camera.

I'm simply shooting in RAW, thats it. No other mode...

Have you got up to date versions of Lightroom and DPP??

The RAW format is slightly different for each camera model, so updates are released for DPP and ACR (the raw conversion engine in LR) every time a new camera comes out that enables them manage the new files.

So long and thanks for all the flash

The 60D is Canon's newest camera... are you using DPP 3.9.3 and Lightroom 3.3?

Can you download from the 60D using EOS Utility? When I went from 50D to 7D my EOS Utility stopped working; gave me a similar type of message about unrecognizable files. I uninstalled all my Canon software and then reinstalled...and everything worked fine after that. You might want to uninstall Lightroom.

You need to install the version of DPP that came with your camera.

Lightroom 2.2 is much older than your camera so it will not recognize the raw files from it. Support for the 60D is in Lightroom 3.3 .... you'll have to pay to update Lightroom.

You're right, it is absolutely free. Unfortunately, however, the registration key costs money.
