Here are a few of the group who sailed the seven seas (well, one of them anyway) to Catalina yesterday. I recently changed my entire workflow and now I seem to have some kind of color profile issue. These colors look a little too muted to me in these pictures. That's something I'm going to have to figure out before I work on any more...

Steve Parr (with his rented 100-400 lens that has the wrong hood on it :lol: ):

IMAGE: http://www.ldphotography.net/cdpf/steveparr.jpg
Canon EOS 20D, Canon EF 100-400 f/4.5-5.6L IS USM @ 105mm, 1/320s, f/7.1, ISO 100

Steve's wife (not the most flattering shot -- I wish it wasn't looking up her nose -- but it's apparently the only one I got of her). We were taking pictures of each other taking pictures of each other (try to make sense out of that!), but she lowered her camera too quickly. Love that smile, though... :)):
IMAGE: http://www.ldphotography.net/cdpf/mrsparr.jpg
Canon EOS 20D, Canon EF 24-70 f/2.8L USM @ 70mm, 1/160s, f/4.5, ISO 100

Four plus one. Left to right: Johnny Thunder's wife, some random guy who walked into the picture, LaDonna (Noni's friend), Noni and Johnny Thunder (who looks eerily similar to my brother):
IMAGE: http://www.ldphotography.net/cdpf/four.jpg
Canon EOS 20D, Canon EF 100-400 f/4.5-5.6L IS USM @ 320mm, 1/100s, f/5.6, ISO 100

Radtech1, enjoying his banana split:

Canon EOS 20D, Canon EF 24-70 f/2.8L USM @ 32mm, 1/20s, f/8, ISO 100

I didn't take any pictures of myself, of course, so someone else is going to have to finish this. Also, I can't remember Johnny and Steve's wives names. I'm so terrible with names, it's embarrassing. Please fill in those blanks for me... :)

I almost forgot to mention... Can you believe I was the only one there who had a POTN camera strap?!?

My name is Lonnie, but I answer to Thomas too.

Nice shots, Thomas. Looks like everyone had a great time.
Thanks for sharing!

OK, I am going out on a limb here and relying on my (formerly) drug addled mind. Forgive me if I am wrong, but:

Steve's wife = Lisa

Johnny's wife = Kelly

I had a great time, and since I am on call today, I havn't even pulled the CFCard out of the camera yet. I DID, however, look them over on my way back and despite the marginal sun, I managed to get 2 or 3 shots that might actually be worth looking at.

I think you're right. All I could think of was Lisa and Linda, and those were just too similar to be correct. For some reason, I was more sure about Linda being right... I wish I was better with names...

I DID, however, look them over on my way back and despite the marginal sun, I managed to get 2 or 3 shots that might actually be worth looking at.

Better sunlight would have definitely been nice. I guess we can't have everything, huh? :confused: Surprisingly, I managed to get a few decent shots from the glass bottomed boat, one in particular I think I'll be very happy with.

All in all, it was a lot of fun. I think I had Noni worried when she asked if I had a good time and I replied "Just a little tiny bit." I guess I forgot to tell her that I'm a smart-ass, and don't always reply truthfully... :lol:

Nope - a rather tall guy (although not as tall as Steve Parr!!), and a nice guy.

We did have a ball...and as was said, despite the marginal sun, I think I've got a dozen or so I really like; now the question is: how do I post process them again, RadTech, with the whole shadow thing? You told me about 5 times, but I had a bad case of the stupids yesterday, and can't remember...

LOL!

I **really** had a great time; tired today, and crossed eyes still, but a great time.

Some of my favorite memories:
~The pirates, trying ineptly, to steal a ship and dispose of a body;
~ice cream on the promenade;
~giving hugs to new friends;
~seeing Steve Parr blush;
~sitting and talking on a bench with Johnny and Keleigh;
~discovering it was NOT user error regarding my Nifty Fifty (yes, I'm calling Canon tomorrow...)
~crawling under the pier with Johnny in the late afternoon sun rays.
~freezing on the boat back.

Lonnie, you're right; Lisa has an incredible smile...

All those who didn't make it, there will be a next time (although probably a different place, though). I'm looking forward to processing my stuff and getting some up here.

Best-
Noni

I kid you not, that was the very first question Lonnie asked, as we were sitting waiting for the boat...

"Uh, what's with the strap?"

LOLOL!

It wasn't because you left her alone in downtown Avalon with your credit card? :lol:

I realy like these threads about POTN'ers getting toghether for fun (and some photos).
Maybe some day I'll arrange for an European/ Iberian meeting here in Portugal.

Thanks for sharing the nice moments you all had.
Looking forward to see the results also.

Cheers,
Jaime
