The new price list is now leaked. Check out www.canonpricewatch.com (external link), which has all the new prices listed for the 60 lenses going up in price.

Well, at least the prices aren't going up by a lot.

Well, if that list is accurate then I managed to save $150 by ordering the 70-200 right before the rebates expired last week. Glad I made the decision.

Glad I got some of my more expensive lenses during the rebates!

Won't really bother me much--I'm mostly buying used canon lenses these days... until Canon gets with it and offers multi-year warranties on their gear (like every other manufacturer out there), I hardly see the point.

I second that... All my gear is used... Get a CPS membership and everything is good

Good Night. I know this is a non-political forum, so I'll just have to hold my mouth shut along with my nose as I make future purchases.

if there is more reason for everyone to buy used then, wont that mean that the price for used lenses will be going up too? in theory at least?

That's the plan, stan. Used lens prices will slightly drift upward, but not by much, and not instantly. People typically list based on past prices... if one person listed low recently, it's infectious

I was just looking at Bhphoto for a 70-200 2.8L non-is and its priced at 1329.00, it was 1280.00 before the new year. Not sure if it has anything to do with this topic... but its an increase none the less and it sucks for me...

I noticed some of the prices go up on Amazon. Was looking at getting the 1.4 50mm. Went up like 5 bucks or so. not sure if that counts towards this

Just checked again, and the prices do match up to what was shown on link that was given and the increase

With the current rebate about to expire and a potential 10% increase it'd be about $200 more expensive than it is right now.

Exactly what are you referring to?
