That would be very disappointing to me because one on the main reasons I'm using Canon gear now is that I found Nikon's equipment to be over-priced/too expensive despite the fact that I really liked it. I started with Nikon, and then they had their big price hike, now their lenses are consistently much more than Canon's equivalent.
Canon 17-55mm IS $990 - Nikon 17-55mm $1399
Canon 24-70 $1250 - Nikon 24-70 $1720
Canon 70-200mm f/4 IS $1100 - Nikon has no excellent yet affordable "prosumer" zoom only the $2300 70-200mm 2.8 VR II
Canon 85mm f/1.8 $350 - Nikon 85mm f/1.8 $450
Not to mention Canon's newer lenses already had a price hike from the older models free online movies, which is normal. 70-200mm f/2.8 IS II, and the 70-300mm L. They have a pretty high price tag as it is, so I hope Canon isn't thinking about making that worse.
