I love these old cameras... they look so cool. I don't have one... :( lol...
Makes me want to go on ebay and buy one and start shooting film for fun. :)

Allen, indeed the 50mm f/1.2 SSC is something to behold !!

I have a lowly 24mm f/2.8 SSC

but I do have the legendary (as some say what every 50mm is judged against), Leitz 50mm f/2 Dual Range with the Spectacles..!!

It's OK, I'll probably pick up a couple of copies later this week. It's the mail subscription that seems to take forever. Thanks for the offer!

Thanks, Tony. You guys coming up for our photowalk in March? Maybe Gail will get on one of her ships and leave her Island to grace us with her presence. :)

I really will try this time..lol...I shall inquire as to my ships schedule. I will be there Feb 7th-8th....Canucks game. I want to spend most of the day walking around snapping stuff.never get to the Big Smoke . Staying at the Rosedale On Robson, so should be good for a few street life photos.

With all the oldies coming out..time to bring out the Pentax again??

I actually really like the sheets of rain shot by Davis Hibbard and I do like the B&Ws of Douglas. I think all the images selected were good I particularly like the one by Heidi Lender too.

I only selected a partial sampling. Even more revealing are the images that didn't get selected. A friend of mine Glenn Steiner is in this show. The big leagues are a bit different because the judges as a whole typically have a wider palette of experience to draw from. What is striking from this collection is how little street PJ work there is. This is an art show. That said there are a few examples of PJ work in this show.

The one I saw (of the scared little Islamic girl) and liked was a silver gelatin print. Did you submit the triptych by any change? I really like that image.

The triptych will eventually be ready along with a new website. I am busy in assessment and pruning of my entire catalog (not large by any measure). Once I get my workflow in good order I will be working solely on portfolios and creative direction.

Here's another nice entry that placed.

Allen, gorgeous F1 samples. The wear-and-tear is a testament to proper usage, and history of capturing moments.

Another word for "wear and tear" is Patina, often used to describe the character of antiquities.

One of the more obscure camera antiquities is a vintage WWII machine gun camera designed to capture images of targets for training purposes. There's one at Seawood Photo in San Anselmo and one at KEH.

Jason several hundred thousand rolls through those babies. I gave a good bud one of my newer F-1s a few years back and a 55 1.2 (the non aspherical version).
