Just ordered a Rokinon 85/1.4, should AF focus better than a Sigma... :p Had a Rok before when I was crop only, looking forward to seeing it's FF output. Now I just gotta find me a precision focusing screen.

Got the 20D's shutter release cleaned and no more sticky button.

I plan on also adding an Olympus 17/2.8 pancake kit lens for my Oly, figure I should have one native lens for the Mu43 body. This particular lens is not very well liked by many, being super soft wide open and that kind of stuff. But my plans for this particular lens will be for more street style candid stuff. Should be able to find one on the cheap.

Woo Hoo! New toys!! Whem will the lens be in your hands..? Looking forward to some of your creative magic!

I am also going to be away - from Sunday until next Thursday. I am picking up my new lens after work, and I hope to get some practice with it while I'm at the Toronto Zoo on Tuesday. If possible I will post a duck picture before then. :)

Matt, no worries mate.

Kristy, some time next week. I had the same lens a year and a half ago, and it was quite nice but I never got a chance to try it on a FF body. Some here 'claim' the Rokinon 85/1.4 to be the equal to the 85L, and I find that to be a reach. Hey, if it's not working for me I can always sell it here...

^ I am curious. How does somebody get a gallery? Do you get invited, or do you print out a lot of photos and hire a place out?

Theres so many different ways to get in a gallery exhibit. The traditional way is to have the gallery handle your work. Those types of galleries have a stable of artists that they have shows of and sell work of. They get anywhere from 20% to 50% of the work sold.

You can also get a group of artists together and pay the gallery to have a show and they still get a piece usually not as large.

You can be invited by a college or a university to exhibit.

I've usually always mount my work on white 4 ply 100 % acid free museum board with white 4 ply 100% museum board over mats which I usually cut myself and I usually frame the work to in simple black metal frames. The last show I was in a couple of years ago was a large group show at a local college gallery where the photographers were all invited and I had a diptych that consisted of two 36 X 54 flush mounted prints on 1/4 inch masonite that were shown one over the other almost floor to ceiling. So there are many ways you can show the work.

Also another place that you can try is a local Library. They usually have pretty nice gallery spaces but all of these would probably require getting an appointment to see the curator to show a portfolio to and then you would have to be excepted.
