Folks,

launched my new website not long ago and I'd like your feedback - particularly the photography section. let me know if it is too slow loading etc... Give me the honest feedback I've come expect and enjoy from you folks..

From someone who has experience with building my own (flash) website for photography. I like yours a lot! Is it HTML5? It's nicely done! I suppose it will work on an iPad? I can tell it's not flash. Did you code it yourself?

One suggestion.. You need more contrast (or less opacity) between the bottom bar and the words displayed on it. Hard to read sometimes.

It is HTML 5 and I haven't tried it on the IPAD yet...I did not code it myself. the gallery portion is easy a lightroom gallery that you can get but the rest is all custom.

Unfortunately, some of the text is coming over funky. Specifically when you use the apostrophes noticed on the pricing pages. The other pages seem to handle it better. (e.g. 'About me' page)

wedding pricing page wrote:
I don’t believe a wedding can be ....

Also, I would really like to see some sort of indication that I'm hovering over a linkable item. Currently there is no notification; may it light up, shift, or underline, on any of the links. You may be surprised how much "life" can be given into a site, just with simple roll overs. Maybe something to work on later?

Other than those items ... I really like it too. I have yet to dabble with HTML5, but very excited to.

P.S. There's a "Post your website" forum HERE.
You may get more relative feedback there. I dunno. Just a thought.

Your site opened immediately for me, but it took about 5-10 seconds for the gallery to open.
It is easy to tell how to go back when you are in the photography section because you have navigation at the top, but when you go to the other sections like design and research, you have to click on the small "x" to close the window. I didn't immediately notice that little "x" and it seems inconsistent to have to close a window in one section to get back to the home page and have a navigation bar in another section.

That being said, I loved your images and once the picture gallery loaded, all the images came up very quickly.

Really weird. I went back to nab a screenshot to show what I was talking about and now the apostrophes are showing up fine. Either something was changed within the last couple hours or the site is haunted. :P Very strange.

I'm using FF 3.6.13 and Win7.

Nevermind me.

Like the layout. I find the transition a little distracting, the grey on grey makes the font hard to read. I should be able to click on another page after it pop's up without having to go to the x in the top right hand corner.

My response as well.

You may want to reconsider adding your research services to the site rather than having them stand alone. Potential customers, both photo and research, may wonder if you are a full or part-time professional.

Agree with this and I tried your site on my iPad and it's not working very well.

The loading of it and the look of it was fine for me.
My input is to change the main photo, not your strongest.
Encourage you to go back through the portrait and wedding samples and cull the less strong images, especially at your wedding price you need to show only strong images in your samples.
The mix of strong images to weak images is about 70-30 right now.
You are on the right track.
