Hi everyone
I am fairly new to this forum and this is my very first thread.
Please give your Comments about these 2 pictures,there ia always room for improvement.
Eq.used...20D and sigma 100-300 f4.

I don`t know if the photos are the right size cause as i said above it is my first time so if they are too big i will improve them the next time.

Thanks for your good words , yes it was a captive bird , but its very nice to be able to photograph them at such a close distance.

I prefer the composition on the first also but both are wonderful captures. What a stunning bird, just beautiful, Raptors are my fav.

Looks like it wasn't moving, so I would have used a smaller appeture for greater DOF. The shallow DOF is evident in #2.

Hi Hellashot (Greek?)
The reason for using a large apperture was to isolate the background compleetely so it doesn`t destract you from the main subject which in this case is the bird.
Of course i see what you mean about the feathers but sometimes when you shoot you forget to adjust settings.
I live and learn.
