I hope this is the right place to put this. I'm currently a hobbyist but trying to work my way into the professional world. I want to get insurance for my gear, reasoning being I would be devastated if my camera gear was lost/stolen. I don't have as much as a lot of you do right now, but I'm already planning for a 70-200 f/2.8 II within the next 6 months and a TS-E before the end of the year. I also take my camera with me 7 days a week (even to work). I need assurance that I'm protected should any number of bad things happen.

Where should I be looking for insurance that will cover me from Lost/Stolen camera gear? I want something beyond Home Owners insurance, since I constantly have my camera with me.

Interested to hear this as well.. I was just going to have a rider added to my homeowners policy, much like we have with some jewelry. (I'm not a professional, but would do some serious grieving over lost gear.)

I want something beyond Home Owners insurance, since I constantly have my camera with me.

The way our rider works, at least with the jewelry, is it has nothing to do with *where* anything happens that would require a claim. If my wife lost a ring in the middle of the pacific, we'd still be covered for it. YMMV.
