I figured this deserved a new thread since its not mentioned in the other B&H shipping thread.

B&H now offers shipping to Canada for $8.99 !!

Not sure when they made the move but didn't see it on the first page here

There has been more times then I can count that I needed something that was sub 100 bucks and Adorama and B&H had there standard shipping of 34 bucks or whatever it is.

It is only ground which takes 2-6 days but still basically only 9 bucks which at least for me being up in Canada is some pretty good news.

Hopefully someone else who was oblivious to this sees this

thanks for the heads up! do you know how this works in terms of customs; ie. additional ship time or fees/taxes?

See my thread here, when I announced this 2 months ago. :)

Just to clarify, the shipping isn't always $8.99, but varies with the size/weight of your order. In general it is about half of what it used to be.

m-industry: all tax & duty & brokerage included up front, read this: http://www.photoprice.ca …-ground-shipping-tax-duty (external link)

Oh nice, didn't realize its been on there for so long. I tried to avoid getting camera related stuff for myself this Christmas so didn't catch it sooner.

And your right about the weight/dim. weight being a factor. It does still come out considerably cheaper then the other options. I don't mind too much if I would be buying something expensive. But if I am buying something for 40-80 bucks and I have to pay another 40 for shipping it kinda sucks.

So I'm thrilled :)

And agreed on checking out that site Asterisk posted. Has lots of good information for shipping to Canada.

Thanks to both of you for pointing this out!
Tired of the high cost of accessories when bought in Canada. For instance--Think Tank Retro about $149 in US; In the mid $210 or so in Canada!
I'm looking forward to giving B&H a try.

it's nice that B&H is offering cheap shipping fee's to Canada. but you have to watch out for the brokerage fee and duty that UPS,Fedex sometimes Canada post charge. i live near the border so i always buy stuff down south i'd save more $$$$ than buying local. is not that i don't want to support the local vendors but damn their price is just way too much and 12% on top.

Ya exactly, I'm all about supporting the local guy but when something costs 300 bucks locally and I can get it online for 200... its kinda hard to justify.
