Ok, I have Elements 9(new) and Lightroom 3. I will be doing most of the editing in Lightroom then on to Elements for a couple other adjustments. Then off to the printer.

So far I am unable to figure out how to add a layer after passing the picture to Elements. Levels OK. Curves OK. But the add a layer options are not available.

If I open either a raw or dng file not from Lightroom layers options are available. Any help would be appreciated.

Found the answer on the Adobe forum. I was passing it to Elements in 16 bit form. Alas no layers that way. Never thought of that.

LR3 and PSE9 are a great combination. I also have CS5 and have no need for it.

Two good books are the one by Kelby and the one from the Missing manual series. Some people don't like Kelby's sense (attempt?) at humor.

I was using a friends computer with Lightroom and CS3. When I build a new computer I put Lightroom 3 on it and wanted CS5, but cost was a major issue. After getting Elements 9($59.99 after rebate) yesterday and checking it out a little, I think it will work perfectly for me. Elements also can use the cannon 9000 pro printer plug-in to print with. I had great success with this plug-in from Lightroom to CS3 and calibrated monitor. Have not printed thru Elements yet, but now I can compare prints that were done before to see if they match(I HOPE)!!!!!
