Is anyone using Vanguard bags?? I picked up a Vanguard Uprise 33 messenger bag when I was in Sydney last week..

Great bag.. It's expandable with enough room for my gripped 50D, 3 or 4 lenses, flash and other bits and pieces.. There's also a pocket for a medium sized laptop.. I got a good deal at 99AUD..

Check it out..

ive been looking at these bags for quite some time now. i just need to find a good proper review on them before i pull the trigger.

- hows the strap with and without a laptop?
- do you think it will fit a gripped camera and a 24-105 with the lens hood in position?
- how quick is the quick access?
- with all the stiff that you mentioned in it, does it get bulky?

thanks!

The shoulder strap is quite substantial, fully adjustable and long.. I haven't packed a laptop in mine yet but the laptop compartment is well padded as is the rest of the bag..

I've packed my gripped 50D with Sigma 50-150mm attached with the lens pointing down, leaving enough room for my Nissin Di866 (in pouch) on top of the camera,, there is room on either side for my 135L and my Tamron 17-50mm plus EF 50mm f/1.4 stacked on top of each other with a padded divider.. The bag is quite deep..

There are heaps of pockets, a rain cover, card compartment etc.. Heaps of velcroed dividers are supplied, more than I need..
Quick access is dead easy..

The 24-105mm is smaller than my Sigma 50-150mm..

Just purchased an Up-Rise 16Z to hold the gripped 5D + 70-200 in a holster style.. Looking forward to it. Will certainly post some images when it arrives.
