I've done due prudence, but search was negative on POTN. Does anyone know of biggest bag that will carry camera gear and a 12" laptop that will go UNDER the airline seat as a personal item? Prefer a backpack type. Would like it to be able to hold the 70-200, 24-104, 10-22, tripod and the flash. Is this asking for too much?

Gear list: Canon 5D3, 24-105L, 100L macro, 70-200L 2.8 IS II, 580EXII; Gitzo GT1541T, Gitzo GM3551, Markins Q3T.

Take a look at Think Tanks' backpacks. They show pictures of some of them under seats.

I think due to the flat gear orientation and neoprene pockets (less rigid than dividers), that a Think Tank Shape Shifter would be the most flexible back pack for under the seat.

Keep in mind that often the seats have entertainment support electronics under them, reducing the height which is available...in lots of business travel I have found it difficult to even get a 7" thick piece under the seat at times, particularly for aisle seats.

I was going to say not all seats will be the same depending on what make/type of aircraft .

...and which airline you are flying, as the interiors are made to airline specifications.

Hmm, did not consider than. I'm thinking about 100+ passenger jets like 737 or so.

Think tank shapeshifter works best because it's flat?
