Got this shot of a sea lion yesterday while out at Catalina Island. It was taken with a 100-400mm L IS that I rented for the weekend. This one picture almost convinces me that I may need to forego the upgrade to a 20D and buy this lens:

Nice capture! Yup, go for the 100-400 L. Easy for me to say, I already have a 20D ;-)a

Bless the recently fallen and their family and friends.
I have a Cannon with me at all times. You can't take the shot if you don't have something with which to shoot.

Looks like you got a lot of use out of that lens. You got some nice shots on the trip!

Great picture, I have to say, that lens is a must, I use mine all the time unless I'm doing macro.
You won't regret the purchase.

Probably the best picture I've taken while using that lens was a macro. I agree, it's a great lens!

Steve,

in all seriousness, would they apply the rental price toward purhcase if you buy one from them? Sure, it sounds silly, to be worrying about $35.00 but hey - that would almost pay the sales tax.

Couldnt hurt to ask.

Nice shot!

Go buy the lens, you won't regret it. By the way - where did you rent the one you had?

Nice shot Steve. That 100-400 is a great lens, as I'm sure you already know. Works great for wild life and dragonflys too!

Ahem....LOL! Toldya!

Great shot - mine came out similar, although not quite as nice. Of course, I'm not using the lens you were....:P Well done.

Best-
Michele
