If you pull the bottom part of the tone curve down, they'll go black, and it will look better. It's also kind of awkwardly composed. I'd have had the guy on the right and the girl on the left.

StudioAbe BAAAAAAN!!! More info | In other words, higher contrast between the light and dark. The human figures are dark enough but the pic might benefit more from darkening the sand as well (the extent of which it should be darkened is a matter of personal preference).
