I finally got my 60D and am so far loving it. I'm still waiting on my 50mm f/1.4 lens, should be here tomorrow morning. I convinced my younger sister to be a model for me and took this shot. Any comments & critiques welcome. Thank you!

Well, you certainly have a good model-sister... Two comments: the background is bit too busy for me, and you could use a light fill, too.

The shot looks underexposed possibly due to the post processing.

Very pretty subject! Fill flash or a reflector would have helped to open shadow details against the bright background.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I messed around a little with the exposure and fill light, and tried to clean up the background (except now it's just white ... any other ideas?). Better? Worse?

Global adjustments to fix the underexposed face will blow out the background, as you saw. You need to use layers and masks. In Camera Raw you can also use the adjustment brush.
