Took this shot Tuesday of the Eclipse. It was not what I was expecting to get from the shot when I was heading over to the location. I was planning on getting a regular shot and fixing my composition from a previous trip here. And since I was still stuck in London with the Heathrow mess I might as well take more photos!! This was taken at 8:38 at night (just over 4 hours after sunset). My guess is the Eclipse made the sky this color when I left the shutter open for close to a minute... any other thoughts would be appreciated, but I thought it was about the best explanation since London was too cloudy to see the Eclipse. Hope you enjoy. C&C Very much appreciated :)

I would kill myself if the sun set at 4:30 here.

A classic view. The sky is always strange muddy colours over London due to the terrible light pollution :(

I complain about our sunrise/set, and we've got 2 more hours of daylight right now. I guess you make it up in the summer.

Thanks for the nice comments y'all :)

After looking over past shots of the Eye and being there for two weeks I would say no matter how much light pollution (slightly stated towars Anke) might be in this photograph, it does not merit the sky looking like this. I did not 'change' the color of the sky in Photoshop (if thats possible, im a PS noob), and thus I believe it was from the Eclipse and a cloudy sky this night.

Great photo! The eye can be difficult to capture without looking like every other photo ever taken of it, but you definitely got a new perspective with that sky. This makes me miss London so much!

I spend a lot of time in Switzerland and the winter's are depressing... but in the summer the sun doesn't set til after 10...

I know, right? I'm just sayin'...

I know what you mean I'm just outside of Chicago, by the time I'm done with work the sunlight is gone. By chance I do get the chance to shoot it's so cold I debate going out. Although I'm hoping for a big snow storm soon to do some snowboarding type portraits.
