I like it. How did you place your flash well hidden inside the umbrella? Or did you use your left arm to hold the flash and PP'ed it out afterwards?

I used my left hand to hold the flash.
I actually didn't have to PP out the flash because the light that the flash emitted was so bright that the light just ate my flash up. haha

Ah... pretty much what I thought. :D Some time ago I made a DIY for a very similar project. I made a flash holder that actually goes inside the umbrella. You won't lose your arm with this DIY!

Thank you Me[kk]a

SYS I tried looking for the DIY, I didn't find it but I found your 6,560 flash pop ups research very helpful :D!

I didn't put that particular DIY in my link, because I wasn't too happy with the result. Basically, it's a PVC tube that fits over the umbrella shaft with a plumbing hose then covering it for better grip. A quick shot here of my son holding the umbrella, just to illustrate that you can do this without losing your arm. I forgot to take a close up shot of the PVC "sleeve" that also holds the flash and a PWII. I'll do that tomorrow if I could get to it.

What is that just to the side of your left shoulder? Is that your arm or something in the background? I'd almost take that out. Clever shot!

SYS- Very clever, but I don't have a remote trigger for my flash so I had to set it off with my hand anyways. I'm a poor student on a budget ): Haha

Stemolandmar- That's my hand, but it's blown out by the flash unit.
