I just use a basic inverter to go from the cig lighter to 120v so I don't have to buy car chargers for phones, laptops, etc. Cheap and handles everything. AFAIK as long as you're not running motors off of one you should be fine.

I know squat about PP. Old: Canon 10-22, 18-55, 24L, 50 1.4, 50L, 85 1.8, 24-105L, 70-200 2.8L nonIS, Sigma 30 1.4, Tamron 18-200 lenses. t2i, 7D, Xsi bodies. New: D700, 14-24, 50G, 105 VR Macro, 70-300 VR, SB700

Delkin make a nice one. http://www.delkin.com …ductid=704&cat=106&page=1 (external link)
It also will charge 2 batteries at once, and you can change the adapter plate to charge batteries for other cameras.

Amazon has one for just $5 - check out http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00206HDIO (external link). It charges my genuine Canon battery and my aftermarket (chipped) batteries equally well.

Evan Idler and BioSci
Thanks , I ordered one of each .
Sounds dumb , but which ever works best will be reordered and left in Mexico at vacation house '[It has really gotten hard traveling with my gear to Mexico . 4 years ago left - tripod , 3 years ago left - 4 X 6 printer , 2 years left - monopod and extra head , last year left 8 X 10 printer]probably the delkin - I ordered the AA and AAA plate also .
After reading about the batteries with chips swelling because of wrong / rapid chargers - I wanted someone who owns them to say - OK

Well, I use the Delkin for charging my batteries for the 7D and the 40D. One of my friends uses his for the 40D. So far, haven't had any problems charging the batteries while in Canada and France this summer.

Evan Idler -- That is why I posted . I wanted to hear from people - mine is great or mine sucks .
An internet ad saids we are great and better / cheaper than others .
I started wanting the 7D when it came out , but waited and read anything I could find . [more burst / higher ISO]
There are a bunch of people who have bad experiences with batteries and chargers / grips .
Rapid chargers can cause batteries to swell , so they are out .
I feel like if you think you need a rapid charger - buy another battery .
I have a power strip 3 feet long with 6 wall warts [chargers] and do not remove them - 2 for XTI , 1 for 7D , 1 for movie camera , 1 for AA / AAA and 1 for cell phone . [I had to remove 1 AA / AAA to put in 7D]

Cant rapid charge a Lion battery, it wont let you. All chargers will charge the same on a Lion battery.
