Which camera is the best camera to get? I'm looking to upgrade my equipment for my photography. I take portraits, events, scenic shots. Which is better for the best professional photos? Need help deciding!

I would say go with the 5D2.

As of today I have them both.

What made you chose the 5D over the 7D?

I bet if u do a search in this forum u would get a bunch of previous threads on this exact topic without any "answer".

And the photographer that does photography for a living makes the photos "professional" not the camera being used. ;)

I agree photographers make the photo but it doesn't hurt to have a great camera on hand :)

Two very different cameras that excel at different things. For portraits, events, and landscapes - the 5D will be the ideal tool for you between the two choices.

Is not over, I will keep them both... At least that is the plan, most of the times I do take pics at parties, museums, parks, and things like that (5D2).

But I have also done some BIF, and while the 5D2 can still be used for this, the 7D's AF seems to do way better, also, every now and then I take my camera when I go to the Yankees stadium, and for that I like the 7D better.

Who know, if I see my self only using one of them, I might end up selling one down the road...

i think both cameras are great and both are very capable.

after post processing you can make great images from both and both just as sharp and clean.

5d is capable of having thinner depth if framed the same with the same lens and f stop. and IQ is better.
7d is more capable of catching fast action.

can always get the best of both by getting a used 1d3 or 1ds2... you will be missing the super high iso and video though

From what I have seen today, the 5D2 can deal with noise at high ISO a lot better than the 7D.

For your needs, no question the 5DII, I have both.

Bohdan - I may be, and probably am, completely wrong.
