sounds like question to be answered by looking through a listing of downloadable apps for Android. Just like with Iphone...it would be up to an app vendor to build/publish such an app. I would be very surprised if such an app is not already available.

I use a program called GPSLogger on my Droid X. I then use a program called Geotag (http://geotag.sourceforge.net/?q=node/1 (external link)) to write GPS info into sidecar files. I just make sure my 7D's clock is as close as possible to the phone clock. Works pretty well.

I think it can write to JPG. I normally write to sidecar, refresh in Lightroom, do my PP and then export to JPG. Then I have the original RAW, and the geotagged JPG files for sharing.

I don't know about android, but I've used a similar app on a windows mobile phone and the battery died really fast. You might want to look into the Garmin Etrex or some kind of other GPS logger that can run for 12hrs+ if you're expecting to shoot for more than 2hrs with a GPS logger running.

just got my android phone today and I'm going to have to give it a try... i've been geotagging with an older garmin etrex and been using GPSbabel (translates the garmin GPS into whatever file format... then I sync the GPS info with my pics for the day in GeoSetter. it saves the GPS info to the RAW file and stays when I convert with Picasa, I haven't been traveling of late so I haven't bothered with the geotagging so I haven't checked if lightroom JPG conversion maintains the GPS exif data when converted...

on the plus side it seems there are TONS of GPS logger apps... just a matter of seeing what one works consistently and doesn't kill the battery to bad... on a side note... don't know that for the all day stuff I could give up my etrix... rugged, weather sealed and inexpensive are good things :)
