These are genuine, brand new cartridges which are long dated, usually at
least one year. If you need the expiry date for your item, please get back
to us.

If you would prefer to return for a refund, then please contact us for
return instructions.

I think that was quite a reasonable answer and so I will give them the benefit of the doubt this time.

I have other Canon & HP cartridges from this comapany in the past and they "ALL" have come in the manufactures own outer packing, considering all the trouble I have had, I asked them to confirm in writing if these were genuine Canon cartridges, reasons:

1. Printer PIxma 9500MKII, don`t want to damage it with non OEM ink.
2. "OEM" ink with correct paper & ICC profiles give the correct prints.
3. If you pay of "OEM" ink that is what you expect to receive.

No reply has been received, this makes mr more worried.

"Benefit of the doubt this time", how many times has this been said, if they have nothing to hide, be up front tell people what to expect.

We spilt these multipacks in order that they will fit through a standard letterbox and also, so that you are not charged VAT. Most people dispose of the packaging once opened. We recycle the packaging.

This could sound like they're very conscientious and like they're trying to take care of their customers. But it could also be taken as "big brother-ish". And considering rayk's experiences with them, it feels creepy to me. I think he's doing right to turn to the authorities.

Still waiting to hear from Canon (the person I was dealing with has left, back to square one), also had to chase up Gurnsey trading standards as well.

This really surprises me; I would have thought Canon would be all over this.
Actually, though... A few months ago I advised Canon that Overstock.com was selling a third-party piece of equipment and making their ad look like it was Canon gear. I expected the ad to be changed but it never was and I never heard from Canon about it. Maybe they don't care about stuff like this.

We will see, if I don`t get a reply, when I go to Focus 2011, I will ask to see some one on the stand, I wonder if they would like it discussed in public.

Final Update...............

At last I have had an answer from Canon, it has taken 5/7 weeks mine you, and their account manager for 7dayshop.com has confirmed that they are now sending out cartridges without the outer packing to save postage costs, Canon have confirmed this in writing.

OK, if this is the truth (?) this has to be accepted, but it does not excuse the following:

Why did the dealer not say this in the first place?

But more over and above that, it does not excuse the poor service, for one I will never buy from this retailer again, I hope others don`t.

Check back on the link earlier in this post to see the reviews they have had, the list is growing.

What do other members feel about this!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well done for keeping us all updated,in my eyes not a very satisfactory result.
I've been looking at a few items from them but may have to dip my feet with a simple single item to start with.
My son uses them all the time and he has'nt had any problems.
Infact he got me some rechargable batteries and good batteries as well.

Well, rayk, not being in the UK, it's a moot point, but I wouldn't give them another chance if it was me. Any business can screw up but your experience with them is inexcusable. thanks for keeping us posted.

Anybody can make a mistake, but its what you do to put it right that matters.
