Your Help , plz

hi

am thinking of having a telephoto lens , and there are two lenses that am thinking about :

canon 100-400
sigma 50-500

i saw many comparisons between the two lenses but till now i dont know which one is better for me

the canon is sharper and it has IS but i think its expensive

i found a used (Sigma 50-500mm f4-6.3 EX DG) for 680$
and for the canon i found only a new one for 1600$

so my question is : does the canon worth the extra 900$ if i want to get a new one , or you recommend the sigma for me ?

Of those two, yes, go with the Canon.

Might also consider the Sigma 120-400 or 150-500.

You will not regret spending the extra for the Canon lens. The Sigma may bring you frustration knowing you could have spent a little extra getting the Canon. Don't get me wrong the Sigma can produce some decent images, but not quite as easily as the Canon lens with IS. The 80-400 Sigma has IS technology and boasts better image quality than the 50-500.

The newest Sigma 50-500 has IS but is more xpensive than the Canon, whilst it can produce good images I would get a lens with IS. The Sigma 150-500 is a cheaper alternative to the Canon and is what I use.

I have the Sigma 50-500. It's heavy but very sharp. But like everyone says, if you can afford the Canon, go for it.
