So I went and got a new flash to me and stopped by our state house and took these pictures. Please let me know what i did wrong or right and what i can improve on. These were all handheld, didn't have my tripod with me. I also had my CPL Filter on.

Thank you for your input

If you number them that may help us really tell you which one and stuff, but the only thing that really jumps out at me is the noise in the flag one and how I wished you would of shot the full Desert Storm memorial. Other then that I think you have some memories from your trip.

There will always be someone that takes better pictures than me so that just gives me so much more desire to learn :)

Thank you for reminding on the numbering the pictures. But on the Flag one, the marble is making it look like it has noise. As it was shot at ISO 100. Think it is just the angle i was at. I did have one of the full Desert Storm monument, but it ended up not being my best shot.

Thanks again.

The first three would benefit from a simple levels adjustment as they are rather "muddy" as presented.

Your first group of images are in Adobe RGB. It's better to use sRGB for the web. That change plus some work
with curves and Shadows/HIghlights filter will bring out detailsl and colors better.

Thanks. It's mainly a matter of personal preferences.

#4 might have looked better in portrait orientation. Possibly a bit wider and from a different angle, it feels slightly awkward the way it is now.

Thank you very much Peano. I just found your post about changing them into sRGB.

I really like your adjustments!! I am seeing what you mean. So much for me to learn.

#2 could have done without the fence, if you move forward and shot over the fence it would have came out less distracting imo

Actually there is an underground entrance between me and the fence. I was as close as i could have been. But I know what you are talking about.

Thanks

Love #5. This one shows a lot of creativity.

Digital killed the Kodachrome star!
With a list of gear like that, what is your excuse?

I like the compositions and with a few adjustments as mentioned in other posts, these can be some really nice images.

Just one question - you mentioned getting a new-to-you flash, but I'm not sure if/how it was used for these shots. Were these just shot on the way to/from getting the flash?
